Mrs. Pettit has over 15 years teaching experience. She earned her bachelor’s in Mathematics Education from Asbury University and her Masters in Education from Baker University. She is currently pursuing another Masters Educational Leadership from the University of Notre Dame.

Mrs. Fischer is Co-Principal and holds a MS in Education. With nearly 20 years in the profession, including roles as teacher and administrator, she leads students and teachers with a balance of compassion and accountability. She believes in setting high expectations for herself and others.

Mrs. Madeleine Abels

English

Mrs. Abels holds a Bachelor’s degree in Adolescent to Young Adult Education with a concentration in Language Arts from the University of Dayton and a Master’s degree in Education with a focus in English as a second language from Muskingum University. Her passion is helping students connect to literature and the art of the written or spoken word.

Mrs. Baumann has been teaching Biology at Cristo Rey Columbus High School since 2014. She is a native of Columbus and earned both her B.A. and her Master’s of Education at The Ohio State University. She is also the faculty advisor for Science Club.

Ms. Bernard received her Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education from the Clarks Summit University and a Masters degree in Adapted Physical Education from Western Michigan University. Her passion is helping students learn to live healthy lives both now and in the future.

Ms. Chow is an educator licensed in 7-12 Integrated English Language Arts and K-12 Teaching English in Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). She has a Master’s in Education from The Ohio State University. Over the past 12 years Ms. Chow has enjoyed instructing students of diverse populations. She always tries to look for the good in every pupil.

Social Studies

Mr. Corrigan teaches US History and AP US History. He holds a Master of Science in Secondary Education from the University of Akron, and has been teaching for over ten years. He believes that by thoughtfully studying history, Cristo Rey students can better navigate the present and blaze a new path for the future.

Dr. Crowe is a chemistry teacher with experience teaching at both the collegiate and high school level. He has a PhD in biochemistry from The Ohio State University. His passion is communicating scientific ideas clearly while developing scientific literacy and critical thinking skills.

Alumni Support Counselor

Mrs. Cruz is from Columbus, and primarily serves our seniors and alumni, preparing and supporting them as they transition and succeed in college. Mrs. Cruz earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Butler University and her Master’s degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Colorado State University, and supported student populations at Johns Hopkins University and the Maryland Institute College of Art before joining the Cristo Rey family.

Math

Mr. Dobler loves teaching math. He has taught it over 15 years at all levels in all sorts of places including Columbus, Taiwan, and Cambodia. He believes developing a strong character and a sharp mind are two of greatest endeavors which one can pursue.

Mr. E. Tyson Ewing III

Math

Mr. Ewing grew up in Peoria, Illinois with two older brothers and a younger sister. He has been teaching mathematics since 2006 and has taught in three states. Mr. Ewing has taught Algebra 1, Geometry, Geometry Honors, Algebra 2, and Pre-Calculus. Most recently, he has been teaching at CRC since the 2017-18 school year and teaches Algebra 1 to freshmen.

Technology

Mrs.  Gilmore teaches freshmen the Technology they will use during their years at CRC and upperclassmen Computer Science concepts and creative problem solving skills to succeed in their chosen field. She believes that CS is now a basic skill in the workplace and will provide students the foundational tools they need.

Mrs. Graham earned her Bachelor of Arts from The Ohio State University in Strategic Communication and Creative Writing. She then went on to complete her Master of Arts in Counselor Education from Capital University. She has over eight years of experience working in education. Her husband also is an educator and band teacher.

Mrs. Rausch-Davis has a degree in Integrated Mathematics from the University of Dayton and a Masters of Education from the University of Notre Dame.  While teaching mathematics, she hopes to engage her students in the learning process, teaching students to think critically and persevere through challenging content and to inspire her students to become life-long learners.
